Film Competition Sees Record Numbers!

What an incredible year, despite the economic roller coaster! We're still entering the "hard copy" applications that were received, so the final tally is not quite in, however this year's film competition has already logged a record number of entries: over 400 films from 25 countries were entered in nearly 750 categories.

All competition entries will be included in the 2009 Film Guide--available in print at the Festival and online later this summer.  All entries will also be available for viewing during the Festival in the Video Library. Preliminary judges convene next week to make tough decisions, and peer judging is already underway! Finalists will be announced on July 9th.  Good Luck to All!

Call for Speakers and Topics

Festival 2009 will feature an outstanding lineup of provocative panels discussions, in-depth seminars, and hands-on workshops--each devoted to an important aspect of the business and art of creating natural history films. Special sessions will target public media (museums, zoos, and special venue) as well as strategies for adapting to an ever-changing market.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.

Get free downloads for Internet Explorer 7, including recommended updates as they become available. To download Internet Explorer 7 in the language of your choice, please visit the Internet Explorer 7 worldwide page.
