Tanya PetersenAustralia/Switzerland

Tanya is an award winning journalist, filmmaker and communications executive.

For eight years, until recently Tanya was the Global Head of Film and Television at WWF International, based in Geneva, Switzerland. She is now project director on a landmark new climate series for a major international broadcaster.

During her time at WWF Tanya worked in some remarkable places in order to communicate science and conservation messages - from Svalbard in the Arctic, to the shores of Lake Chad and the Altay Mountains of Mongolia. One of Tanya’s last bodies of work at WWF was to produce and direct a four part climate series for Al Jazeera’s global English language channel.

Part of Tanya's job also involved corporate social responsibility work with the global broadcast industry and working with filmmakers and broadcasters on sustainability issues.

Before joining WWF she worked as a business correspondent and presenter at the BBC, a correspondent and journalism trainer in southern Africa and a radio and television journalist at the ABC in Australia.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
