MARCO POLO FILM AG, Annette Scheurich Where are you based? Heidelberg, Germany What is it that you do in the film industry? How would you describe your job/s? I am author and executive producer of nature and science documentaries. Who or what inspired you to work in film and why cover nature and conservation issues? My husband and I where always engaged in “green” issues and we think that with documentaries for TV we can reach the broadest audience. What is the favourite programme or series you’ve worked on? Always the next one. What has been your biggest challenge filming in the field? Travelling for two years through Africa from North to South with our two year old son and producing four documentaries during that time. How has technology changed your job? Has it hindered or enhanced telling the conservation story? Since we are working with HD and coming from 16mm film, we would say it has enhanced our work, even though working with film was great. What is your favourite place in nature? Sitting in a forest, watching and listening whatever comes by. With all your field experience, what is your biggest concern when it comes to the environment? Too little, too late! How do you think the media industry should be addressing environment and conservation issues? Showing solutions on how humans and nature survive together. If you could give one message to G8 leaders on climate change, what would it be? Be informed and act. What are you working on at the moment? We are working on different documentary in Africa and Europe about camels, elephants and a nature film about the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains. Where are you going next? To Tanzania, Kenya and the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains. What would you like to remembered for? I would like to be remembered by good friends for my integrity and cheerfulness. Links: |
